Our Mission

CarCampers.com was built to solve a specific problem: the internet is full of car camping advice from people who've done it twice. We wanted a resource written by people who've done it 200+ times, across every climate, in every vehicle type — and who can tell you honestly what works and what doesn't.

Every gear recommendation on this site is based on actual field testing. We don't publish affiliate links to products we haven't used for at least two full seasons. We don't take sponsored gear in exchange for positive reviews. Our editorial is independent.

Field-Testing Methodology

• Minimum 5 nights of real-world use before reviewing any gear item
• Climate testing across at least 2 distinct temperature ranges
• Multiple vehicle types tested for setup-specific recommendations
• Cost tracking — we report actual prices paid, not MSRP
• We purchase most gear ourselves; occasionally brands send samples, which is always disclosed
